Tinkercad is a free online program used in 3D design and modelling. Participants will learn about CAD 3D designing, 3D printing concepts, and the design process. They will learn how to navigate and use the program features to use tools like shapes, join, cute, holes and scale tools to move and modify shapes in the work plane. Participants will go on to learn how to combine shapes and use critical thinking to create designs that can later be 3D printed. They will work through problems to imagine, create, and test their unique designs, and work towards being able to test solutions to improve their models. Requirements: Participants must have a Google or Facebook account to log into the software as well as an account in Tinkercad (www.tinkercad.com). Recommended Equipment: Personal USB Key to save work (note that computers are shared student accounts).
